Yooperlite is a type of fluorescent rock that glow under ultraviolet light. The name Yooperlite is a trademarked brand for a syenite rock that's rich in sodalite, a fluorescent mineral. The term was coined by Erik Rintamaki, who discovered the rocks in Michigan in 2017. He combined the nickname "Yooper" for people from Michigan's Upper Peninsula with the word "sodalite" to create the name.
